Region 4 History Day at Youngstown State University
Celebrating 50 years
Founded in Cleveland in 1974, National History Day is a project-based learning experience for students in grades 6-12 that builds college and career skills for the 21st century by making the historical past relevant to the present and the future. Youngstown State University has hosted the Region 4 History Day since 1975. Students from Ashtabula, Geauga, Mahoning, Portage, and Trumbull Counties participate by writing papers or creating exhibits, websites, performances, or documentaries based on the yearly theme.
